iPhone 3GS “No SIM card installed” error

leave a comment »

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was trying to resolve the “No SIM Card installed” issue that I received after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1

To fix “no SIM card installed” error OR Unable to activate iPhone issues:

First Try (Update: This one not works 😦 most probably b/c of older version of iOS OR Redsnow)

Update (Please check “https://adeelrehman.wordpress.com/2012/05/14/upgrade-activate-iphone-3gs-to-ios-5-1-1/” for the fix)

With the help of following video I noted down the steps and trying to resolve it:

It may take 5 – 10 minutes to complete the process, go through the video to check and understand detailed steps, following is the excerpt from the video:
–          You have to download two software, links are:
            o   Redsn0w 0.9.9b4 – Windows
            o   iPhone 3GS 5.0 ipsw

–          Run Redsn0w as an administrator
–          Go to Extras > Select IPSW
–          Browse .ipsw file that downloaded above.
–          Click OK, Click Yes (read the instruction if you have right iPhone then click yes)
–          Click back on Redsn0w
–          Click Jailbreak
–          Power off the iPhone
–          Check ON “Install Cydia, Install iPad baseband and Deactivate”
–          Click next & hold power button for 3 seconds, then hold Home button keep the power button pressed for around 10 seconds, release power button and keep Home button pressed for another 10 to 15 seconds.
–          Release home button
–          Wait and let it complete it’s work
–          Once you see done on Redsnow
–          You can close the Redsnow
–          Let the phone complete its work.
