iPhone 3GS “No SIM card installed” error
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I was trying to resolve the “No SIM Card installed” issue that I received after upgrading to iOS 5.1.1
To fix “no SIM card installed” error OR Unable to activate iPhone issues:
First Try (Update: This one not works 😦 most probably b/c of older version of iOS OR Redsnow)

With the help of following video I noted down the steps and trying to resolve it:

It may take 5 – 10 minutes to complete the process, go through the video to check and understand detailed steps, following is the excerpt from the video:
– You have to download two software, links are:
o Redsn0w 0.9.9b4 – Windows
o iPhone 3GS 5.0 ipsw
– Run Redsn0w as an administrator
– Go to Extras > Select IPSW
– Browse .ipsw file that downloaded above.
– Click OK, Click Yes (read the instruction if you have right iPhone then click yes)
– Click back on Redsn0w
– Click Jailbreak
– Power off the iPhone
– Check ON “Install Cydia, Install iPad baseband and Deactivate”
– Click next & hold power button for 3 seconds, then hold Home button keep the power button pressed for around 10 seconds, release power button and keep Home button pressed for another 10 to 15 seconds.
– Release home button
– Wait and let it complete it’s work
– Once you see done on Redsnow
– You can close the Redsnow
– Let the phone complete its work.
